Welcome to Heron Class!

Miss Roe teaches us with the help of Mrs Nowells and Mrs Perry.

We are a happy and friendly class of 28 and always do our best to be kind, safe and responsible Y2s!

Heron Class love to read and find out about the world around us. We are lucky enough to visit Folly Farm several times in the year which supports our Y2 science learning and helps us to understand and look after our local environment.

This year, our Class School Counsellors are Apphia and Diego.

We love to challenge ourselves and remain optimistic as we become increasingly more independent in our learning. This year we are going to learn about lots of interesting things including Isambard Kingdom Brunel, The Gunpowder Plot, Animals including Humans, Materials, Plants, Sewing, Countries and Capitals and so much more!
 

Homework

Reading: It is important that your child is reading every day, as a school we request that children read a minimum of 5 times a week. This could be reading decodable Phonics books and story/ picture books for pleasure.

Spelling: Spellings for each term will be sent home. Please practice these alongside common exception words at home.

Maths: Using Numbots and practicing counting in multiples of 2, 3, 5 and 10 will help support your child with their fluency.
